Thanks for stopping by and learning more about Belize. Firstly Belize was formally known as British Honduras, it was renamed in 1973 and in 1981 was granted independence.
So where is Belize?
Belize is located in Central America, to the North it boarders Mexico and to the South is Guatemala. Over half the country is covered in forest and has a barrier reef over 300 kilometres long. Making it an ideal tourist attraction.
The climate is tropical with average temperatures ranging from 24°C in January and 27°C in July. Beware of the seasons here with the dry season running from January to April and the wet season can bring over 1350mm of rain, along with being subject to Hurricanes.
What brings tourists to Belize?
This country has hundreds off shore Caye’s to explore, with safe waters for boating, fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving around the reef is just the beginning.
The forest and rivers create awesome places for kayaking, rafting and hiking. The Maya ruins are a must see here. Wildlife reserves are aplenty so catch a glimpse of jaguars and the awesome bird watching won’t disappoint.
The official language in Belize is English, due to being a former British colony. The currency is the Belize dollar (BZD) with the capital city being Belmopan yet the largest city is Belize City.
What else could you look for in a holiday where everything is covered in Belize.
